OSCo unveils...

OSCo Consulting GmbH successfully carried out yet another SAP implementation in the area of steel processing - this time for the Wuppermann Group, which has plants in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

Besides the short implementation time (just 9 months for almost all SAP modules at 4 locations in 3 countries), a further highlight was the high efficiency in the Production Detailed Planning.

Several customer-specific tailor-made legacy systems could be replaced, therefore expanding the competitive advantage. This is established by the high level of data exchange with customers, suppliers and other external service providers, e.g. in shipment handling, in reduction of secondary requirements in the operating departments via putting rule sets on the system-side.

An important requirement for this industrial segment is the high-level integration of QM. Quality data from the supplier (rolling mill) and from his supplier (steel mill) can be taken over even before the goods themselves arrive.

This makes selective requests from manufacturing just as possible, as the processing of quality data including addition of the customer's own measurement results, required for sending the final quality certificates to customers.

Alternative channels of production and distribution, even across several countries as well as several plants (Cross Company), can now be handled by the new centralized SAP system without any additional logistical costs.

Another highlight is the back-traceability of products across all production levels. Here, the well-proven and successful OSCo solutions have been the key to success.

Using a single identification system (batch units), all material flow and secondary processes are now handled like stocktaking and consumption assignment (costs distribution) in the production.

The multi-level version of the OSCo MasterData Trigger not only reduces the costs of data administration, but also guarantees error-free data for all business processes.

Based on this, the SAP Project Manager from the Wuppermann Group, Mr. Markus Schaller, presented a report on the occasion of the OSCo Day 2006 in Mannheim.
