Interview with Frank Selbach, CIO of Schäfer Werke GmbH
Multi-step manufacturing including QM & shipping realized within SAP ERP
All industry-typical particularities represented in a single software

Schäfer Werke in Neunkirchen, Germany, have been using SAP ERP since several years in the German plants of Dresden, Betzdorf, and for the manufacturing of perforated plates in Neunkirchen. Therefore, it was obvious to also completely integrate within SAP their steel service center 'EMW Eisen- und Metallhandel GmbH' with its varying manufacturing tasks.

Interview with Peter Schneck, CIO of Walter AG
All MES processes represented in the ABAP Workbench

In 2007, the Walter AG built the most modern plant in the world for indexable inserts in Muensingen, Germany. Part of the company’s philosophy is to run the most important applications in a consistent software environment - the SAP ABAP Workbench. Peter Schneck, CIO of Walter AG, by using ''production'' as an example, provides information about the aspects and experiences with the implementation of SAP ERP including the OSCo solution for MES and Production Data Collection.

SAP with a difference - High-speed reporting for manufacturers of high-quality products
OSCo has implemented uniquely optimised, global SAP Solutions at JohnsManville (JM) Europe. The solutions are based on the SAP variant configuration and IS-Mill.

Breaking new grounds - System migration at Monofil:
When the Monofilament Division of the American JohnsManville Group changed hands with the Japanese company Teijin Ltd. it became necessary to separate the relevant data stocks and the functions from the existing SAP system by means of migration, and to form a discrete client.

Business Processes in a change-driven era:
The main focus was on integrating the Internet processes into the order and delivery processes of the ICN EN S spare parts service already implemented in SAP. The business management project objective was to introduce an end-to-end process within the context of providing materials through a distributed nationwide warehouse structure.

Mission: Successful ! - OSCo introduced innovative development on the basis of SAP R/3 at three further JohnsManville sites.
OSCo was guided by the dedicated goal of significantly minimizing the required manual and administrative effort with the help of strategic supplementary developments for the SAP solution, at the same time tailoring the new logistics software to fulfill the special requirements of the production level sector.

Making 2 out of 1 – Company split for Monofilaments:
The takeover of the Monofilament Division of JohnsManville Europe GmbH by Teijin Ltd. posed a tough challenge for OSCo, which had to be solved against the clock.

Ingeniously engineered - Filament nonwoven and monofilament producer changed over from SAP R/2 to SAP R/3 in record time.
Maximized return to the SAP standard from the 80% level of modifications in SAP R/2 to only 20% add-ons in the new SAP R/3 system had to be accomplished in just seven months.
